Season 3 Harried in Hillsfar:

Spoilers for those who haven't played through this setting, read at your own risk.

Hillsfar is a walled city. Like many of the other towns and cities on the Moonsea, Hillsfar has seen its share of warfare and turmoil. Hostilities with the elves of Cormanthor, with Zhentil Keep, with the Shadovar, and with their own morally questionable leadership have plagued Hillsfar for more than a century. For the first time in a long time, the people of Hillsfar can look outside their walls and not see a dire threat looming at their gates. Or at least, none that are obvious. Rampant xenophobia, steeped in years of misdirected fear and outrage, have led to not just a citizenry distrustful of any non-humans, but also to a series of laws outright forbidding anyone other than humans to become citizens of Hillsfar. The laws of the government and the attitudes of the human citizens mean that the only nonhumans allowed into the city are slaves, most of whom fight for their lives at the Arena--to the delighted jeers of the human populace. The outskirts and rural lands around Hillsfar, because of these laws, are littered with non-human refugees, many who lost everything when they were evicted from their homes and businesses within the city. Some of these refugees plot against the authorities of their former home, but most simply try to survive through commerce, farming, or other legal (or illegal) pursuits. When rumors of strange happenings around Hillsfar reached the ears of the five factions, representatives of each established camps near the village of Elventree. From these bases, the factions send out agents to investigate these strange tales, hoping to prevent any major calamities--or profit from them.
.
Our heroes have struck out upon the main road to Hillsfar when they were approached bu a crazed man running from out of the forest. Screaming about strange and obscene events...

There is a message from this land's new master, but it is hidden five-fold.

• The first is at the place where dandelions rise above and cover the people. The virile and the virulent can be one and the same. The hell-tinged one is lost, and then several are found.

• The second runs red with the blood of roots, where an heiress lies and hides her pain in long wooden boxes. She hides more than that though, but only to keep what is hers.

• The third is at the spring of blessed life, where the haunters protect and the protectors haunt. The water runs on, of course, and must be freed for all.

• The fourth holds the great thundering beasts, but the beasts are gone, to give way to a greater thundering beast with death in its eyes. They await at a place of ancient elven evil.

• The fifth lies where the ancients lie beneath night's marble, forgotten but not gone. The lost wealth of a forgotten time pays terrible dividends now.

Determining that the first place was Farbough Farms, the heroes travelled there reaching it in just few short hours. Arriving at the farm, they had come to witness that the farm has become an orphanage for non-humans, as many young dwarves, halflings, elves, half Orcs and others are about. Even and Bea run the farm, and Bea was happy to welcome the young ones as she had no children...until recently. A week or so ago, Bea gave birth to sextuplets. A bizarre enough ocurrence, but with something more--each baby has six fingers and each hand and six toes on each foot. Bea offered to to make dinner for the weary travelers if they could help her with a couple of errands. One, find the tiefling boy Pynroth who undoubtedly went to the forbidden pasture (mainly because it was forbidden) and help who is trying to assist the goat with delivery of new kids.

Andrew the Ranger and the monk set out after the tiefling, while Hilde the fighter and the druid went to see to the goat. The bard of the party remained at the farmhouse to entertain the children and solicit information. Andrew and the monk found Pynroth quickly enough and saw that he and a half elven druid named Beralt had been set upon by wild dogs. Attacking the dogs to save them, our heroes vanquished the wild pack and their ferocious alpha, but nearly risked the death of the halfling monk when the alphas powerful jaws nearly crushed the life from his tiny frame. Andrew were able to save him using first aid and rushed back to the farmhouse with him

Meanwhile, Hilde the dwarf fighter and Shizen the ellf druid were quickly surprised to find that jovee The goat in labor was quickly giving birth to four bright red goats and a fifth red giant goat with two heads! Shizen, in tune with nature realized that these abominations must be destroyed, and did so with help from Hilde and a timely aid from the bard. After a ferocious barnyard fracas, the heroes are rejoined to take a rest and then set out to right the wrongs that keep them harried in Hillsfar!
